The Depth-Image-Based-Rendering (DIBR) is one of the main fundamental technique to generate new
views in 3D video applications, such as Multi-View Videos (MVV), Free-Viewpoint Videos (FVV) and
Virtual Reality (VR). However, the quality assessment of DIBR-synthesized views is quite different from
the traditional 2D images/videos. In recent years, several efforts have been made towards this topic, but
there is a lack of detailed survey in the literature. In this paper, we provide a comprehensive survey
on various current approaches for DIBR-synthesized views. The current accessible datasets of
DIBR-synthesized views are firstly reviewed, followed by a summary analysis of the representative
state-of-the-art objective metrics. Then, the performances of different objective metrics are evaluated
and discussed on all available datasets. Finally, we discuss the potential challenges and suggest possible
directions for future research.

Glycine is an amino acid tasting sweet to humans. In 2-bottle tests, C57BL/6ByJ (B6) mice strongly prefer glycine solutions, whereas 129P3/J (129) mice do not, suggesting that they differ in perception of glycine taste. We examined this question using the conditioned taste aversion (CTA) generalization technique. CTA was achieved by injecting LiCl after drinking glycine, and next its generalization to 10 taste solutions (glycine, sucrose, saccharin, D-tryptophan, L-tryptophan, L-alanine, L-proline, L-glutamine, NaCl, and HCl) was examined by video recording licking behavior. Both B6 and 129 mice generalized the aversion to sucrose, saccharin, L-alanine, and L-proline and did not generalize it to NaCl, HCl, and L-tryptophan. This indicates that both B6 and 129 mice perceive the sweetness (i.e., a sucrose-like taste) of glycine. Thus, the lack of a glycine preference by 129 mice cannot be explained by their inability to perceive its sweetness. Strain differences were observed for CTA generalization to 2 amino acids: 129 mice generalized aversion to L-glutamine but not D-tryptophan, whereas B6 mice generalized it to D-tryptophan but not L-glutamine. 129.B6-Tas1r3 congenic mice with 2 genotypes of the Tas1r3 locus (B6/129 heterozygotes and 129/129 homozygotes) did not differ in aversion generalization, suggesting that the differences between 129 and B6 strains are not attributed to the Tas1r3 allelic variants and that other, yet unknown, genes are involved in taste perception of amino acids.

The multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) were filled with long continuous Ag nanowires via a wet chemical method. The diameters of Ag nanowires were in the range of 10-20 nm, and lengths of 100-1500nm. Microwave absorption and complex permittivity and permeability of MWNTs filled with Ag nanowires have been investigated in the range of 2-18 GHz, respectively. The reflection loss of the Ag nanowire filled MWNT/epoxy composites with the thickness of 1.0 ± 0.1 mm is below -10 dB in the range of 7.2-9.0 GHz, and the minimum value is -19.19 dB at 7.8 GHz. The microwave absorption of Ag nanowire filled MWNT/epoxy composites can be mainly attributed to the dielectric loss rather than magnetic loss. The absorption peak frequency of the MWNT/epoxy composites with thickness of 1 mm can be tuned by filling Ag nanowire into MWNTs.

A new PVC membrane electrode for dibasic phosphate anion based on Ferrocene-bearing macrocyclic amide compound (L) has been prepared. The construction, response characteristic, selectivity and application of the electrode are investigated in detail. The best performance is exhibited by the electrode membrane containing 20 mol% TDMAC1 with o-NPOE as a plasticizer, and the electrode shows good selectivity towards HPO_4~(2-) over a wide concentration range (1.0 × 10~(-2) to 1.0 × 10~(-5) M) with a Nernstian slope of 29.8 mV per decade at pH 9.0, and a detection limit of 2.2 × 10~(-6) M. It has a very short response time, less than 20 s, and can be used for at least 2 months without any divergence in response slope and linear range. The electrode displays high selectivity towards dibasic phosphate with respect to many other anions including Cl~-, Br~-, I~-, NO_3~-, OAc~-, and SO_4~(2-). The proposed electrode has been used as the indicator electrode in titration of phosphate with Ba(NO_3)_2 solution.
